May 2016: Police were called to El Moussa and Haack’s house.

Us Weekly reported that, on May 23, 2016, Orange County police were called to El Moussa and Haack’s home in response to a “possibly suicidal male with a gun.”

Eyewitnesses reportedly told police they saw El Moussa “run out of his back door, jump over his back fence, and walk northbound into the hiking trails of the Chino Hills State Park.”

A witness said Haack was following him and was “crying and shaking.” One of Haack’s friends was in the home at the time and told police she saw him grab a handgun before he left.

In “Flip Your Life,” El Moussa said he left their home “after an especially heated confrontation with Christina” and took a pistol with him in case he saw any wildlife. He also said in the book that he had a concealed carry license for the firearm.

El Moussa also wrote in “Flip Your Life” that Haack called the police, and they took him home in handcuffs after tracking him down via a helicopter, as per their “protocol.”

He added that the incident marked the end of his marriage to Haack.

“And that was the very last time we were together as a family: with Christina walking down the driveway, crying, and me sitting there in handcuffs, asking myself, ‘What in the world is going on?'” he wrote in his book.
