From classic Ray-Bans to more obscure choices, sunglasses are a must-have this season. They’re one of the accessories of choice for many business leaders descending on Sun Valley, Idaho, this week for the annual Allen & Co. conference.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was photographed wearing a $410 pair of Vuarnet glasses at the event on Tuesday.
During a summer event calendar packed with tennis tournaments, billionaire weddings, and more, these are the sunglasses CEOs and other business leaders are pairing with their looks.
Ray-Ban
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy arrived at Sun Valley in a more casual get-up than his polo-wearing peers. The Amazon CEO paired a graphic tee with a button-down shirt that he left open. For his eyewear, it looks like a classic pair of RB4379D Ray-Bans with a clear frame.

Disney CEO Bob Iger opted for a more vintage look, donning Ray-Ban aviators at Sun Valley.

Mark Zuckerberg’s smart glasses
On many occasions — both casual and formal — Mark Zuckerberg has sported his own company’s AI-powered Meta smart glasses made in partnership with Ray-Ban.

Oracle cofounder and CTO Larry Ellison cycles through eyewear when he’s courtside at tennis matches. He’s been spotted wearing a pair of sporty Oakley glasses that resemble the Whisker model.

Another brand of choice for Ellison is Gatorz, a company that offers American-made eyewear, with marketing that shows off tactical use for eye protection. Ellison appears to be wearing the Marauder model.

Sam Altman’s Vuarnets
OpenAI’s Sam Altman spoke to the media at Sun Valley in July wearing a pair of Vuarnet glasses. The brand describes itself as a retailer for Alpine sunglasses made with mineral lenses. Altman wore the Altitude 03 pair.
