Taylor Swift is arguably more bejeweled than ever.

The billionaire musician announced her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce on Tuesday afternoon, posting a series of photos to Instagram. She captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”

The carousel included a close-up shot of Swift’s engagement ring: a massive, rounded rectangle diamond framed in gold.

Ajay Anand, the CEO and founder of diamond retailer Rare Carat, told Business Insider that the jewelry’s value is likely somewhere in the $1 million range.

“The ring appears to feature an antique old mine brilliant-cut diamond,” Anand said, noting that the style was popular in the 18th and 19th centuries due to its “chunky facets and romantic sparkle.”

Rolling Stone reported that Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry designed the piece. The jeweler is known for her hand-engraved gold rings.

Artifex Fine Jewelry did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

“This particular stone looks to be in the 9-carat range, top colorless D, and flawless clarity, and frankly, nothing less than what you’d expect for Taylor Swift,” Anand added.

The massive diamond also has a gold frame, he said, and appears to be hand-engraved with claw prongs and details on its undergallery.

That said, it’s not the only luxury jewelry item Swift sported during her proposal.

In the photos she posted to Instagram, the “Tortured Poets Department” musician is also seen wearing a gold tennis bracelet, a $1,400 heart-shaped earring with the letter T in the middle from Found Rae, and a Cartier Santos Demoiselle watch that can resell for upward of $40,000.

Her outfit of choice was a $398 striped, silk dress from Ralph Lauren.

Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023 and have made numerous public appearances together since. Most recently, Swift filmed an episode of Kelce’s podcast to announce her coming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
